Add or subtract minutes (or hours) from any clock time — or from right now — and see the exact result time, with a day-rollover indicator when the answer crosses midnight. Also computes the duration between two times, including overnight spans.

Date math instead? This tool does clock / time-of-day arithmetic (HH:MM ± minutes). If you need to add days, weeks or months to a calendar date, use the days-from date calculator instead — different math, different tool.
How it works
Every time is converted to minutes since midnight (14:30 → 870). Adding or subtracting is plain integer arithmetic, then the day-rollover is floor(total / 1440) and the displayed time is total mod 1440. That is why 23:45 + 30 min = 1425 + 30 = 1455 → 00:15 with +1 day. The duration mode is the reverse: (to − from) in minutes, with an optional +1440 when the end time falls on the next day. Everything runs in your browser — no data leaves your device.
Type your start time or tap Use now to fill in the current time, enter the minutes, choose Add, and tap Calculate. The result appears instantly with a day-rollover badge if it crosses midnight. Example: 90 minutes from 2:30 PM is 4:00 PM.
What time will it be 30 minutes from 11:45 PM?
12:15 AM the next day. The calculator converts 11:45 PM to 1425 minutes, adds 30 to get 1455, and wraps past 1440, so the answer is 00:15 with a +1 day badge. Try it in the calculator above: start time 23:45, add 30 minutes.
How do I subtract minutes from a time?
Switch the direction toggle to Subtract. The same wrap logic works backwards: 30 minutes before 12:15 AM is 11:45 PM with a -1 day badge. Negative deltas never produce invalid times because the math is modular.
Can I add hours instead of minutes?
Yes. Switch the unit selector to hours. Decimal hours are supported, so 2.5 hours counts as exactly 150 minutes. Example: 2.5 hours from 9:00 AM is 11:30 AM.
What does the +1 day badge mean?
It means the result crossed midnight into the next calendar day. Example: 20 minutes from 11:50 PM is 12:10 AM with a +1 day badge. The badge also works for larger jumps: adding 3000 minutes to 8:00 AM gives 10:00 AM with a +2 days badge.
How do I find the duration between two times?
Open the Duration between times tab and enter the from and to times. The result is shown as hours and minutes plus the total in minutes and decimal hours. Example: 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM is 8h 30m, which is 510 minutes or 8.5 hours.
What happens when the end time is earlier than the start time?
With the overnight option on (the default), an earlier end time is treated as the next day: 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM is 8h 0m. Turn overnight off and the calculator reports the honest signed difference instead, for example 4:00 PM to 2:30 PM is -1h 30m.
How do I switch between 12-hour and 24-hour format?
Use the display format toggle above the Calculate button. The answer is always recomputed in the selected format, and the subtitle shows the other format too, so 16:00 and 4:00 PM are never ambiguous.
Does the calculator handle landing exactly on midnight?
Yes. 120 minutes from 10:00 PM lands on exactly 00:00 with a +1 day badge, and 12:00 AM displays as 12:00 AM in 12-hour mode, never 0:00 AM. Every boundary case is covered by the frozen test vectors.
Can I enter very large values or decimals?
Yes. The minutes field accepts any non-negative number and hours accept decimals, while large values simply roll over multiple days with a +N days badge. There is no practical upper limit because the arithmetic is exact integer math.
What is the difference between this tool and the days-from calculator?
This tool does clock and time-of-day arithmetic: HH:MM plus or minus minutes or hours, with midnight rollover. The days-from calculator does calendar date arithmetic: a date plus days, weeks or months. They solve different problems, so both exist as separate tools.
Is my time data sent to a server?
No. This calculator is a single HTML file that runs 100 percent in your browser. There are zero network requests, no account, no tracking, and nothing you type ever leaves your device.
