cost = attendees × hourly rate × hours

Your meeting

Salary → hourly converter

Hourly = annual salary ÷ 2,080 (40 h/week × 52 weeks). Ignores paid time off, benefits, and overhead — a conservative lower bound.

Worked examples

  1. 8 people × $75/hr × 1 hour = $600 per meeting.
  2. The same meeting held weekly costs $31,200 per year (52 × $600).
  3. Salary to hourly: $100,000 ÷ 2,080 = $48.08/hour.
  4. Multi-tier: 5 engineers @ $120/hr + 2 managers @ $95/hr × 1 hour = $790.
  5. Cost per minute: $600 ÷ 60 minutes = $10/minute.
  6. Cut 15 minutes from that weekly meeting: save $150 per meeting, $7,800 per year.

Frequently asked questions

How is meeting cost calculated?

Multiply the number of attendees by the average hourly rate and the duration in hours. Example: 8 people at $75 per hour for 1 hour costs $600.

How do I find the hourly rate for my team?

Divide the annual salary by 2,080, which is 40 hours per week times 52 weeks. A $100,000 salary works out to about $48.08 per hour. Use the built-in salary converter below the rate field.

Does the salary converter include benefits and overhead?

No. Dividing by 2,080 ignores paid time off, benefits, payroll taxes, and overhead, so the true cost to the company is higher than the number shown. Treat the result as a conservative lower bound.

How are weekly, monthly, and yearly costs computed?

A weekly meeting is assumed to happen 52 times per year, every two weeks 26 times, monthly 12 times, and daily 260 times, counting workdays only. The yearly figure is the per-meeting cost times that count; monthly and weekly are the yearly figure divided by 12 and 52.

Why does a short cheap meeting cost so much per year?

Repetition. A $600 meeting held weekly costs $31,200 per year because it happens 52 times. Recurring meetings are usually the most expensive kind, which is why the calculator shows the yearly number first.

What is the fastest way to cut meeting costs?

Shorten the meeting, invite fewer people, or meet less often. Cutting 15 minutes from a $600 one-hour weekly meeting saves $150 each time, or $7,800 per year. Dropping one $75-per-hour attendee saves $75 per meeting.

Is my salary or meeting data sent anywhere?

No. This calculator runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded, stored, or shared.
