    ACFT scoring FAQ

    What is the ACFT?

The Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT) is the U.S. Army’s six-event fitness assessment: 3-repetition maximum deadlift, standing power throw, hand-release push-up, sprint-drag-carry, plank, and 2-mile run. Each event is scored from 0 to 100 points, for a maximum total of 600 points.

What score do you need to pass the ACFT?

You must score at least 60 points in each of the six events, which also means a minimum total of 360 points. Failing a single event below 60 points fails the entire test, even if your total is above 360.

Do ACFT standards change with age and gender?

Yes. ACFT scoring tables are normed by ten age brackets (17–21 through 62+) and gender, so the raw performance required for a given point score varies. Enter your age and gender above and the calculator applies the matching bracket automatically.

Why might this calculator differ slightly from my official ACFT score?

This tool uses a simplified model: it interpolates linearly between the published 60-point and 100-point anchors for your age and gender bracket. Official grading uses the Army’s full scoring tables (DA Form 705) with finer gradations, so mid-range scores can differ by a point or two. Always verify your official score with your unit grader.

What equipment is used in each ACFT event?

Deadlift: hex (trap) bar with plates, 3-rep max. Standing power throw: 10-lb medicine ball thrown backward overhead. Hand-release push-up: bodyweight, max reps in two minutes. Sprint-drag-carry: 25-meter lane with sled drag and kettlebell carry. Plank: bodyweight forearm hold. 2-mile run: measured course or track.

How can I improve my ACFT score fastest?

Train your weakest event first. Every event below 60 points is a failure risk, and points are cheapest to gain where your score is lowest. Once all six events pass comfortably, push your strongest events toward 90–100 for promotion points.

Scope boundary. This page estimates scores for the six standard ACFT events only, using a simplified anchored model. It does not replace official grading (DA Form 705 / your unit grader), does not cover alternate aerobic events for soldiers on permanent profiles (2.5-mile walk, bike, swim, row), and is not medical or enlistment advice. No other ACFT calculator exists in the nrtechstudio catalog.
