How to generate a number sequence online
- Set the range. Enter a Start and End value and a Step. To generate consecutive numbers, use step 1; for even numbers start at 2 with step 2; for a countdown set Start higher than End (e.g. 10 → 1).
- Pick the output format. Choose one number per line (ideal for Excel columns), comma, comma + space, space, semicolon, tab, pipe, or type your own custom separator.
- Style the numbers. Add leading zeros for fixed-width IDs (001–100), wrap each number with a prefix/suffix such as SKU-, and optionally reverse the order.
- Copy or download. Copy the list to your clipboard or download it as .txt or .csv for spreadsheets.

A number list generator is a free online tool that creates a list of numbers between any start and end value, with a step you choose. Enter a start, an end and a step, pick how the numbers are separated (one per line, comma, space, tab or your own custom separator), then generate, copy or download the result. For example, generating 1 to 10 with a comma separator produces: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10.
Set Start to 1, End to 100 and Step to 1, then click Generate. The tool creates all one hundred numbers instantly. The 1 to 100 list contains 100 numbers, sums to 5050 and averages 50.5 — the live stats bar above the output shows the count, sum, average, minimum and maximum for every list you generate.
Yes. Turn on leading zeros and choose Auto (the tool pads every number to the width of the largest value) or set a custom width. Generating 1 to 10 padded to 3 digits produces: 001, 002, 003, 004, 005, 006, 007, 008, 009, 010. Zero-padded lists are handy for product SKUs, invoice numbers and document IDs that must stay the same length.
Use the Step field. For odd numbers, set Start to 1, End to 100 and Step to 2; for even numbers, set Start to 2, End to 100 and Step to 2. For example, the odd numbers from 1 to 20 are: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19 — 10 numbers that sum to 100 with an average of 10. Decimal steps such as 0.5 also work.
Enable the "Reverse order" option before generating. Reversing the list 1 to 5 gives: 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. You can also simply set Start higher than End — for example Start 10, End 1 with Step 1 generates a countdown: 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.
