Method, source & honesty notes
Every number on this page is derived from the formulas below — no hand-typed chart cells.
Primary source: the Mondopoint / EU / UK / US conversion tables of ISO/TS 19407:2023 Footwear – Sizing – Conversion of sizing systems (accessed 2026-10-08). The formulas above are the standard's own derivations: one Paris point = 2/3 cm per EU size; the US formulas are the customary Brannock-device relations. Seven anchor cells (220, 240, 260, 270, 280 mm adult and 150, 180 mm kids) were recomputed by hand and matched the standard's table rows exactly before the reference data was frozen.
Rounding: converted sizes are rounded to the nearest half size, ties rounded up (the standard's "round to the larger size for comfort" rule). Mondopoint is the foot length rounded to the nearest 5 mm.
What this converter does not pretend: EU sizes measure the shoe last, not your foot, and last allowance varies by maker (13–17 mm is typical for adults, and the standard itself notes converted sizes can run ½–1 size small versus real European footwear). Women's sizes use the FIA scale (women's = men's + 1) from the ISO tables; many retail charts use a "common" scale (+ 1.5), which reads half a size larger — both are documented in the FAQ so you are never comparing across scales unknowingly.
Scope boundary
- Snowshoe sizing ≠ footwear sizing. Our snowshoe-size-lab tool sizes snowshoes (the frames you strap on to walk on snow) from body weight and snow conditions — foot length plays no role there. This page converts footwear sizes (EU ↔ US) from foot length. The two intents are completely different.
- Width systems (US B/D/EE letters, UK E/F/G) are not converted here — they vary even more between makers than length does.
