One timer suite for every classroom moment
Unlike single-purpose timers, this suite covers the full school day: a visual classroom countdown timer with kid-friendly animations, a stopwatch for timed drills, an interval timer for station rotation, a Pomodoro focus timer for sustained work, and a classroom noise meter that keeps volume visible.
Visual timers kids actually watch
Abstract numbers don't hold young learners' attention. Choose Bubbles, Bouncing Balls (balls disappear as time runs out), or Calm Waves for a soothing wind-down. Seasonal Halloween and Christmas themes keep the timer fresh all year, and the aesthetic Gradient theme suits older students.
Classroom noise meter with honest privacy
Searches for "classroom timer and noise meter" show teachers want both in one tab. Enable the microphone for a live green/amber/red volume indicator, or use the manual mode if you'd rather not grant mic access. Either way, nothing is recorded and nothing leaves the browser.
Interval timer for station rotation
Set work minutes, rest minutes, and the number of stations. Each phase change plays your chosen alarm, so groups rotate on cue without you watching the clock.
Exam and test timer
Looking for a classroom timer for tests? The one-tap Test / Exam Timer preset starts a 45-minute countdown with a deep gong at the end. Combine it with fullscreen projector mode so every student can see the remaining time.

Frequently asked questions
What is the Classroom Timer Suite?
A free online classroom timer with five modes — countdown, stopwatch, interval, Pomodoro focus timer, and a noise meter — plus animated visual themes, synthesized alarm sounds, activity presets, and a timer queue. Everything runs in your browser; no account or download needed.
Is this classroom timer really free?
Yes. Every mode, theme, preset, and the noise meter are free with no sign-up. The tool is a single web page that works in any modern browser on computers, tablets, and interactive whiteboards.
How do I show the timer fullscreen on a projector?
Press the "Fullscreen projector mode" button under the timer display. The timer expands to fill the whole screen with a large, high-contrast readout designed to be readable from the back of the classroom. Press Esc to exit.
How does the classroom noise meter work?
Switch to the Noise mode, then tap "Enable microphone". Your microphone measures room volume live and shows a green / amber / red indicator (Quiet, Getting loud, Too loud). If you prefer not to use the mic, tap one of the manual buttons (Quiet, Loud, Too loud) to set the indicator yourself.
Does the noise meter record or upload audio?
No. Microphone audio is analyzed locally in your browser to compute a volume level and is never recorded, stored, or sent anywhere. Denying permission simply keeps the manual mode available.
What visual themes are available?
Six animated themes: Bubbles, Bouncing Balls, Calm Waves, an aesthetic animated Gradient, plus seasonal Halloween and Christmas themes. Pick one from the theme row — the animation plays behind the big timer digits.
Can I use it as an interval timer for station rotation?
Yes. Choose the Interval mode, set work minutes, rest minutes, and the number of rounds (stations). The timer announces each phase change with your chosen alarm sound, so groups know exactly when to rotate.
Does it have a Pomodoro focus timer?
Yes. The Pomodoro mode runs focus sessions with short breaks and a long break after every four sessions. You can customize the focus length (default 25 minutes), break lengths, and the number of cycles.
What alarm sounds can it play?
Three built-in sounds — Bell, Chime, and Gong — all generated live with Web Audio (no audio files to download). You can also choose Silent, adjust the volume, and repeat the alarm up to three times.
What are the activity presets?
One-tap setups for common classroom moments: Brain Break (5 min), Tidy-Up Time (5 min), Silent Reading (20 min), Group Work (15 min), Test / Exam Timer (45 min), Station Rotation (interval), Focus Session (Pomodoro), and Quiet Work with the noise meter.
Can I chain several timers into a lesson plan?
Yes — use the Timer Queue. Configure any timer, tap "Add current to queue", and repeat for each block of your lesson (for example: warm-up 5 min → group work 15 min → tidy-up 3 min). "Run queue" plays them back-to-back with alarms between each.
Can I add an extra minute while the timer is running?
Yes. The "+1 min" button adds a minute to any running or paused countdown without restarting it — handy when an activity needs a little more time.
Does the timer stay accurate if I switch tabs?
Yes. The timer is driven by the system clock, not by counting animation frames, so it stays accurate even if the tab is hidden, the computer sleeps briefly, or the browser throttles background pages. The display snaps to the correct time when you return.
Can I use it as an exam or test timer?
Yes. The "Test / Exam Timer" preset starts a 45-minute countdown (adjustable to any length) with the Gong alarm. Fullscreen projector mode keeps the remaining time visible to the whole room.
Does it work on interactive whiteboards and tablets?
Yes. The layout is responsive and touch-friendly, with large buttons for start, pause, and +1 minute. It works in Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari on whiteboards, laptops, tablets, and phones.
Do I need to install anything or create an account?
No. It is a single web page — open it, pick a mode, and press Start. There is no installation, no account, and no data ever leaves your browser.
